Heaton Stannington U14 Reds: Player & Parent Agreement

At Heaton Stannington U14 Reds, our core philosophy is simple: Squad unity always overrides individual ambition.

We are committed to creating a positive, inclusive, and competitive environment where players can develop their footballing ability and grow as individuals. To achieve this, we ask all players and parents to read and commit to the following standards for the season ahead.

The Player Agreement

As a player for Heaton Stannington U14 Reds, I agree that:

  • I will put the team first: I understand that togetherness and team spirit are our biggest strengths. I will support my teammates on and off the pitch.
  • I will earn my shirt: I understand that matchday minutes are not guaranteed. They are earned through my attitude, commitment to training, work rate, and fitness.
  • I will embrace our playing style: I will be brave on the ball and commit to our Game Model of playing from the back, utilizing a passing game, and progressing forward together.
  • I will show respect: I will respect my teammates, the opposition, the referee, and my coaches at all times.
  • I will bring a positive attitude: I will arrive at training and matches ready to work hard, listen, and learn. I will leave any negativity off the pitch.

The Parent & Guardian Agreement

As a parent or guardian, I agree that:

  • I will champion #WeOnlyDoPositive: I will provide unconditional support and positive encouragement from the sidelines for all players on the pitch, not just my own child.
  • I will let the coaches coach: I will avoid shouting tactical instructions from the sidelines. Amii and Mick are there to guide the team’s development, and conflicting instructions can confuse the players.
  • I will respect the officials: I understand that referees are essential to the match. I will respect their decisions and will not openly question or criticize them.
  • I will prioritize communication: I will communicate clearly and early regarding my child’s availability for training and matchdays to help the coaches plan effectively.
  • I will support the squad ethos: I understand that decisions regarding playing time and positions are made by the coaching staff for the benefit of the entire squad’s development and tactical setup.

The Coaches’ Commitment

As your coaching team, Amii and Mick commit to:

  • Providing a safe, welcoming, and structured environment for every player to enjoy their football.
  • Delivering high-quality training sessions focused on technical ability, tactical understanding, and our core passing game.
  • Treating every player fairly, with honesty and respect, ensuring that playing time is distributed based on the clear criteria outlined in our ‘Earning Your Shirt’ guidelines.
  • Always putting the long-term development and wellbeing of the players ahead of simply winning at all costs.

By being a part of the Heaton Stannington U14 Reds squad for the 2026/27 season, players and parents agree to uphold these standards, ensuring a fantastic season of football for everyone involved.
